My Starline S96 System is not working at cold weather

Hello. 


I am living at Russia but i am foreigner. I bought Starline S96 alarm system for my car and it was montaged by a car service at Omsk. When they montaged my alarm system, it was summer and everything was normal. But winter came , and moved from Omsk to Nizhnekamsk because of my work situation. And because of cold weather my alarm system is not working anymore. It is only working when car getting warm. But when i stopped the car, after 2-3 hours alarm system is not working anymore till next start. 


I wanted to repair it at Nizhnekamsk . Because i can't go back to Omsk , it is 1800 kilometer far away. Nobody knows what happened to my alarm system and they want money from me because of i bought my alarm system at Omsk. 


There is no english support for foreigners, nobody is helping me about this situation. I dont know what can i do , but i am sure that i will not reccomend this brands product !!

Most of Russian car alarm fitters do not speak English.

We can not make any tests of system work remotely. You need to find a way to communicate with installers in your region to fix it. 

At least you can offer free service for your products all around Russia. 


You are selling 15.000 ruble product, but if something happens to alarm system i need to find a service, i need to spend my time, and i need to pay. 


It is not fair.  

You are promoting your product "Hey guys, it is bluetooth, it is gsm, you can start your car with your phone app even the temprature is -40 " . But in reality your product not working under 0 degree. And you want me to pay for repair.

You paid money to your installer in Omsk. They gave you warranty.  

And you want me to pay for repair.

We do not ask any fee.

There are millions of possible reasons:

  • sim card balance
  • damaged sim card
  • wrong settings
  • wrong connections.

You should visit a workshop to check the system work.

StarLine units work fine in north cities where the tepperature goev even below -40

Cool down, man. Take care your nerves.

Most likely an issue is in SIM card, which is happen to bend in cold weather. Smth. like below sample.Try to find the main unit fitted inside, dismantle housing and check the SIM card slot. A piece of insulating tape between SIM and holder helps in most cases.

It's been 1 year after this post. In this 1 year i always triying to solve this problem. But nothing, no solutuion. And another winter came. And my s96 bt alarm system is still not working at cold weather. I am still at Nizhnekamsk, i also trying to access Naberznye chelny starline service. They are not understanding and they are not helping me about my problem. Totally big disappointment for me. 

They put my alarm system at Omsk. They want me to go there but it is not logical. Omsk is 1800 km far away from me. Go and return 3600 km. It means 14.000 ruble i need to spend only for gas. This is the price for new alarm system. 

I want a really big help about my problem from Starline customer service. Please call me and help me about repair this problem.  Please i bought a product for using at the winter , my wife and baby using this car too and car is freezing at the morning , because of my alarm system is not working.

Hello. As I said you above we can't check the system work remotely. You need to visit a workshop to check the system work.

Whom did you call at Naberezhnie Chelny?

I was calling "12 Volt"  Naberezny Chelny . I found their phone numbers at Internet . They were answering like "we are not responsible" . They direct me Starline service at naberezny chelny . I can't find their phone number and i don't know where they are working. And i am living at Nizhnekamsk. 

Dear Dimitry, i am a customer. And i paid money for this product. And this product is not working. And you want me to spend my time and money for fixing this problem because of your product is not working. 


I know we are living in Russia, but customers servise should be work for customers. I am expecting that some person to call me and speak with me in English, and booking closest service for me and fix my problem . But in this situation you are totally not taking responsiblity and want me to solve my problem alone. 

Please don't blame me about being angry and being agressive. I want my rights. Even if i want to remove this alarm system from my car, they want me to go to service to Omsk ! There is a device in my car, it is not working and it is not possible to remove.  This is not logical. 


Please help me as soon as possible. If you will not help me , i will use my legal rights.

You need to visit a workshop to check the system work. 

You have 2 options:

  1. Contact to your installer in Omsk and ask for a diagnostics covered by their warranty. Maybe they have partners close to you.
  2. Visit any other workshop, but in this case you will need to pay for it.
